PLEASE READ:This mod outputs the digital video signal directly from the on-board FPGA. 720p mode is compatible with almost all devices we tested, however, 480p and 1080i are auxiliary modes that may have issues on some devices such as audio or graphical glitches.
240p mode is to be used with non-scaling HDMI to component adapters for CRTs and PVMs. Component adapters that have an internal image scaler will present issues with with 240p mode specifically. Component adapter must also support 480i input, 480p support only does not suffice for 240p mode. These compatible converters seem to be in short supply at the moment, but we will post a link here to a suitable converter when a tested and reliable source is found.

The N64 doesn't output RGB video, only encoded composite video and s-video is available on the A/V output port.
It's best to use RGB video for the best looking picture.
This board can be installed into any model of Nintendo 64.
Digital signal from the from the graphics processor enter one side of the N64RGB and analogue RGB video comes out the other side.
Features

UltraHDMI is designed to connect to modern TVs and monitors. It generates several different resolutions, and like all the other options, can be configured with the on-screen menu.
Video: 60hz and 50hz modes
1080p
720p
640x480, 720x576, 1600x1200
Audio: 48KHz, 16bit digital PCM
All the settings are configurable with an on-screen menu overlay that can be accessed during a game with a button combo.
Every aspect of operation is fully configurable. Just want to play games? It works fine from the get go. Power users can tweak every setting to their liking.
Optionally, it can apply a set of retro filters to make it "feel" more like a tube TV: scanline bleed, nonlinear brightness curve, HV anode sag...
No matter what processing and features you've turned on, lag averages 1 frame (16ms), and optionally can be reduced to a lightning-fast 1ms with a special Zero Lag mode compatible with many TVs.
Installation is a bit fiddly
FINAL DETAILS
UltraHDMI cannot add more detail or resolution than the N64 already generates. It can't fix blurry textures, or add polygon detail.
What you will get is a pixel perfect image of what the game produces, before it got smeared into analog TV goo.
Use both plugs at once
COMPATIBILITY
UltraHDMI works in all revisions of Nintendo 64s produced, with only minor install differences.
Installation does not affect the console's original video output, and both can be used at the same time. HW2 brings analog support which routes RGB/YPbPr component video to the original MultiAV port.

The UltraPIF, a Lattice MachXO2-FPGA based board, replicates all of the functions of the original N64 'PIF'.
It completely bypasses the anti-piracy CIC check process thus unlocks the region barrier set by Nintendo.
To compensate for the difference of both NTSC and PAL consoles video clocks, the UltraPIF comes with an integrated clock generator/oscillator.
This means that PAL N64 owners can now enjoy NTSC games at 60hz and NTSC N64 owners can experience PAL games at 50hz.
